(May 27, 1969 – September 23, 2016)

Derek Navin was a fantastic coach, but an even better man. Many people that met Coach Navin express that he was one of the kindest, most genuine people they got the chance to interact with. Coach Navin was crucial to the development of some of Hartford United Soccer Club’s most accomplished players, and was a huge factor for many successful teams. He didn’t just impact these players on the field, as he had a huge impact on many players off the field that will never be forgotten. His unrelenting positive attitude and the ability to mentor kids throughout the club was very powerful. 

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back 
May the sun shine warm upon your face 
The rains fall soft upon your fields 
And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand
