Hartford United Soccer Tryouts
Each June, the Director of Coaching, along with coaches/evaluators, will evaluate players and advise on selection, as well as team placement. Players will engage in organized training sessions, including small sided games to bring out technical abilities, as well as tactical awareness, work rate, coach-ability, etc.
Hartford United SC will email players receiving offers by the WYSA offer deadline. Players/parents are required to respond within 24 hours if they are accepting the club’s offer. Tryout Flyer>>
Parents are advised to leave the field (let your kids own the experience) during the tryout process.

Birth certificate-New Players to HUSC Only. We need to see it to verify age, but will not retain any copies.
T-shirt with player’s name on back (can use tape/marker)
Tryout fee is $25 for those who register online prior to tryouts. If you have not registered online prior to tryouts, fee increases to $30 and must be paid the night of tryouts (cash or check).

Per US Soccer Federation There Are No Formal Soccer Tryouts For Academy Levels
Tryout & Academy Information
Your player will be trying out for the age group for the next season (See age matrix below)
- Players looking to play up a year over their slotted age group should discuss with their coach or DOC before registering
- Each age group will have two tryout sessions. Players are encouraged to attend both
- If you are unable to attend either tryout please contact one of the DOCs
Tryout Policy & Team Selection
- All tryouts will be organized and overseen by our coaching directors
- Players should arrive 20-30 minutes early to register and receive a tryout number
- DOCs will determine the team rosters for the new season based on tryout results and discussions with evaluators and club coaches
- No coaches with players on the teams, board members, or other parents will have any role in determining team rosters

Birth Year Matrix
When determining your childs age group for a season, the year the season ends should be used for determining the players birth year. Also, note that the format “age followed by U” means that age and younger. For example, 8U means 8 and younger. For more age-group information please reference U.S. Soccer’s Player Development Initiatives.
