College: Concordia University of Wisconsin, Position: Left Defender
Do you have a goal to play professional soccer after college?
I’m very motivated to finish my degree in business finance, and then after these 4 years I’ll see where I stand.
Do you plan to coach once your playing career is over?
Yes!
Were you excited or nervous to join HUSC?
I was a little of both. I joined HUSC when I was 9 and played on the U11 team. I learned a lot of technical skills through my 8 years of being at this club. HUSC was a great place to start my soccer career.
Any memories of the transition to HUSC that you can share for new players joining us?
I put everything I had into every practice and game. I wanted to prove to my coaches and teammates that I was a factor on the field. Listen to your coaches attentively, and try your best to fulfill their requests. At Concordia we stress that we are only a muscle inside the body of a team, so become the best player you can. This will require you to practice soccer in your free time.
If you could meet up with one HUSC coach for breakfast who would it be and why?
Jim Schrot, because he’s very knowledgeable in soccer, and he’s very positive.
If you had to do it all over again, is there anything that you would do different?
I wouldn’t have changed a thing. We won the majority of our games, won a lot of championships, and the entire team showed each other respect. My childhood was honestly so much fun because of HUSC.
What was most important to you in your development as a player with Hartford United SC?
What was most important to me was how to play soccer as part of a team. I learned how to build good chemistry through every year of playing at HUSC.
What is your proudest accomplishment with Hartford United SC?
Winning multiple tournament championships around the Midwest.
What advice would you give current players as they set goals in hopes of playing at the college level?
What we stress the most at Concordia University of Wisconsin is the slogan “don’t come back until you’ve gotten better”. In every practice or game you participate in you should get a little bit better in some aspect of the game. Also, work hard in the classroom. Your work ethic is a reflection of yourself.
