No
Do you plan to coach once your playing career is over?
Given the opportunity, it would be fun to coach at any level if I can make it work with my career.
Were you excited or nervous to join HUSC?
I was more excited to join HUSC than anything, but I don’t think that I got very when I was younger. I loved playing soccer and I was excited for a new opportunity to improve as a player.
Any memories of the transition to HUSC that you can share for new players joining us?
Its important to be confident and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. During tryouts every summer I would get nervous in front of all the coaches and new girls, but there is nothing to be afraid of. The game of soccer is all about trying new things, working to get better, and having fun. Shake out the nerves and work hard.
If you could meet up with one HUSC coach for breakfast who would it be and why?
I would meet up with the coach that I had all throughout middle school and high school, Jim Dietlmeier. He coached me for so long that I fully credit him for making me the soccer player that I am today.
If you had to do it all over again, is there anything that you would do different?
Not at all. I prioritized playing soccer and enjoyed every minute of it. Even during high school when I played a fall sport, my coach worked with me, so I could also play club soccer. I worked hard, made friends, created memories, and set myself up with skills to continue to play at the next level.
What was most important to you in your development as a player with Hartford United SC?
One of the most important things for me was the bond that I created with my team and my coach. Soccer is supposed to be fun and when you are surrounded by people who push and support you, its fun. I got to play with the same group of girls and coach from middle school through high school and over time we got to know each other well. When you create friendships and connections with your team, you play better on the field.
What is your proudest accomplishment with Hartford United SC?
There are so many memories that I have with playing HUSC and my team and I were able to accomplish a lot. One of the best things was playing in Kick Some Grass and being able to win your home tournament.
What advice would you give current players as they set goals in hopes of playing at the college level?
Work hard and have fun. If you aren’t working hard, you won’t get better and if you aren’t having fun, you’ll get bored. Enjoy every minute and never forget who helped you along the way.
